Hypnosis to Break Addictions

Hypnosis to Break Addictions

Addiction is not uncommon. In fact, over 35 million individuals around the world struggle with some form of drug dependency. Of course, drugs are not the only form of addiction, and when you include other forms of addiction, the number of individuals fighting personal battles against addiction increases exponentially. This is further saddened by the fact that less than ten percent of individuals struggling with addiction seek help. So, if you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, know that your seeking help is incredible and that you are on the right track! Hypnotherapy is part of a much larger arsenal used to combat addiction, and when leveraged correctly, can be a critical component in your fight against your dependence.

How does hypnosis aid in breaking addictions?

It is important to note that in severe cases of addiction, hypnosis should used as a supporting treatment, and not as a primary tool for care. With this said, hypnosis is primarily used to create a mindset shift. This is done through the power of suggestion to the subconscious mind and alters the way that one perceives their dependence on a substance. Hypnosis is also used to alter the way that one perceives oneself and can assist an individual by increasing their level of self-love and confidence – critical areas when addressing addiction. Finally, hypnosis can be used as a means to address addiction triggers – this is something that is often overlooked, as remedial action is taken against the problem, and not the root of the problem itself.

Is hypnosis an effective way to break addictions?

Much of the answer to this question can be found above, but it is important to note that the efficacy of hypnotherapy is often dependent on the practitioner providing the therapy. At Deep Focus Hypnosis, we do not simply treat the problem. We look at addiction as a symptom of an underlying issue. We work in conjunction with addiction specialists and other licensed professionals to treat the individual, who in turn, is empowered to conquer their addiction in their own capacity. The efficacy of the treatment that we provide is also dependent on the individual, as commitment to the remedy of the issue is required by all parties involved, including the individual receiving care.

Is hypnosis a long-lasting treatment for breaking addiction?

The long-term efficacy of treatment is largely dependent on the individual. One must express a commitment to the breaking of harmful habits, and upkeep lifestyle changes which endorse the long-lasting impact of the treatment they receive. We often recommend that our patients receive ongoing care to assist in their recovery. Keep in mind that recovery from addiction is lifelong, and regardless of how one overcomes addiction, the journey is never entirely over.

What kind of treatment will I require?

The kind of hypnosis provided, as well as the number of sessions provided, will be determined upon consultation with the patient. This is, of course, not set in stone, and will be amended as needed. It is important to remain flexible during treatment (both as the practitioner and as the patient) to effectively address the addiction.
